Chibir (English)
The storm had passed, and the forest was slowly coming back to life with the arrival of its dear friend, the sun. The birds came out to sing, letting everyone know that the storm had passed, as if the rest of the animals were blind, deaf, and insensitive. The squirrels ran among the trees, searching for breakfast; the raccoons waited for the squirrels to have food so they could steal it; the iguanas came out to sunbathe; a family of rabbits hopped around, why not? it was free, while the sloths asked for 5 more minutes.
From a distance, a small transparent sphere approached, accompanied by the gentle breeze of that morning.
Her name was Chibir and she was a bubble.
Flying over the forest, she descended until she came across Fenrric, a fat elephant, who was sleeping with his face smeared in the trunk of a thick, rough tree.
She hovered in the air, watching, she needed help and Fenrric was the first living creature she had nearby.
Slowly the pachyderm woke up, unaware that a bubble was suspended above him.
As usual, his awakening was accompanied by a hangover and anger, with his trunk he took out a beer from “who knows where” and in a second he finished it.
When Chibir saw that her future hero was awake, she approached him with the intention of asking for help to get home; she had woken up in the hole of a trunk and had no idea how she had gotten there.
Her last memory was of having breakfast with her family…
Unfortunately, she was a bubble, and I don’t know if you know this, but bubbles don’t talk.
In her desperation, Chibir descended even lower, hoping to get his attention.
She landed on the elephant’s trunk, causing, not to be seen, but rather, an incredible sneeze that sent her flying through the air, at a speed never experienced by a bubble.
She began to descend, straight towards a group of porcupines that were walking through the forest.
It was in that small moment that she understood: she would never see her family again and she regretted not having enjoyed them.
She wished she had a time machine to play more with her dad, make pink soap cookies with her mom, take care of her siblings…
But among all things, her greatest desire was to declare her love to that bubble in school, have children, grow old by her side, and then die by her side.
Dying, that was the only thing she could achieve in her plans.
“Fium!” a bird flew very close to the sphere, causing it to deviate from its tragic fate, now, to a field of roses.
But Chibir took it as a second chance; she would not waste it.
Using all the strength a bubble can have, she dodged every thorn that crossed her path.
As she emerged from that deadly trap, she found herself in a garden surrounded by all kinds of flowers.
There, at last, she was able to stop, resting on some blue petals.
“Waba, waba, waba, waba” could be heard in the center of the garden; the curious sound came from a pile of petals of different colors, which moved and jumped through the air.
The new event caught the attention of the bubble and approaching slowly, she saw that among the multitude of colors there was a frog that was writhing and singing “Waba, waba, waba, waba”.
Sensing Chibir’s presence, the frog jumped, landing on its hind legs and coming face to face, or…
bubble to face? with Chibir.
They couldn’t communicate, but that didn’t stop Waba (for lack of a name I’ll call him Waba) from feeling the sadness and loneliness of the bubble through that sixth sense that we all know frogs have.
Not knowing the cause of her problems, he decided to help her in the only way a frog could.
With a jump he returned to the colorful pile doing three pirouettes in the air and shouting “¡waba!”, with a lick he ate all the petals, and with a burp that sounded like a loud “¡waba!” came out of his mouth a multicolored arc with the red towards the outside and the violet towards the inside (you must know it as a rainbow) that was lost among the clouds.
“Waba” said Waba, blowing towards Chibir creating a spiral of colors in the air.
The small sphere trembled, she began to feel a unique connection with Waba, she knew what the frog was thinking and understood that he felt the same way.
Waba jumped on the rainbow and began to climb it.
Chibir followed her, flew over the rainbow and from purple to blue, green, yellow, orange, red, purple…
The bubble was painted with colors as she ascended the brilliant bridge. For the first time in her adventure, she had left all worries behind, only the magic of that moment existed.
Finally, they reached the highest point of the rainbow, and as soon as Waba said “waba” a golden portal opened, from which three narwhals emerged and began to fly in circles above the bubble.
Suddenly, in the center of the three cetaceans, a kind of symbol projected that emitted a blue and white light. It was a “Y” in the center of a triangle, which passed through all three sides of the geometric figure.
The symbol began to descend, entering Chibir.
She felt a surge of energy, her mind cleared and she could remember everything. The night before she had gone out for a fly when the storm arrived. A gust of wind had swept her away, causing her to hit a log and fall unconscious.
Her family was vacationing in a small cabin not far from there. Soon she would see them again.
Waba said “Waba,” and propelling himself with his hind legs, began to slide down the rainbow, using it like a slide.
Chibir followed him rolling, changing color with each turn. A whirlwind moved inside her, making her feel excited, alive.
Later, they were found resting on the branch of a tree. Chibir, now a red bubble, was fully resting to regain energy and be able to return to her family.
The frog, satisfied with his work, understood that he had nothing left to do there. He said “waba,” a colorful portal appeared in the air, and as soon as he jumped in, the portal disappeared.
“Runrunrunrun, JUMP! runrunrunrun, JUMP!”
A squirrel was moving through the trees in search of food. That morning, a raccoon had stolen her breakfast, and she was very, very hungry.
“…Runrunrunrun, JUMP!, runrunrun, STOP!…” There it was, on the tree opposite, a juicy and delicious cherry.
Saliva began to escape from her mouth, while her gut rumbled, demanding food.
Without thinking for a second longer, she ran and jumped, ran and ran, and lunged at it, extending her little hands. When she finally grabbed it to bring it to her mouth, the shiny cherry disappeared with a small “poof.”
